And as you wander through the and  rooms it’s easy to see just why this Pub is a favourite.
Exposed beams adorn the ceiling and roaring fires crackle prosperously during, putting that warming glow as fireplaces can. As you sit upon the handmade wooden chairs and peer through the candle-lit windows, you feel yourself transported back to a simpler day and age at which you would not be surprised to see that a throng of carts and horses trundling past.

The Star Inn
One of the many lovely fireplaces
The lights at the Star Inn
There Are Lots of eclectic light fixtures all around the Hotel, adding a modern touch to the Grade 2 listed building

Of course, some of the more modern furnishings from the renovation crack this illusion marginally; the fittings creating of being in today’s world, the perfect feeling without sacrificing some of the history and charm of the century pub.

I headed down to the re-launch, and was soon wrapped beneath its spell. Of the 37 rooms the deceptively large Hotel holds, half had been completely re-done, with the past few (phase two of the renovation) beginning the following week.

The re-done rooms have been presented in an manner so that you could go and take a look around, and it left me wishing I didn’t live a few minutes away, thus rendering it unjustifiable for me to stay here. For I could easily envision myself stood at one of the  windows along with my hands watching the beautiful Alfriston village life pass by before me and curled around a hot mug of tea.

The bedrooms are all warm and inviting spaces to spend your evening

The two front bedrooms are some of the larger, and nicknamed the ‘old rooms’ because of their History. Exposed beams are a feature, the walls painted a shade of creme and the Honeymoon suite is a fireplace, using intricate marking and detailing around the hearth’s bearer.
I could imagine.
The atmosphere feels ‘homey.’ It is easy to forget you are in a Resort and rather think you are in reality relaxing in your own abode. The chambers draw you in, and also photographs which line the walls and the carefully selected artwork tell a story and leave you reluctant to depart.

The corridors are fitted with a plush new, red rug and distinctive lights to add personality to the space

We wandered across the bedrooms, each different to the past room for four with a double as well as a sofabed, and also a couple of rooms to the lone traveller.
Long corridors bear carpets and eclectic lighting features in varying colors of red, the walls a creme that is delicate.
The rugs in the rooms retain that timeless, old-fashioned texture, together with all the fashioning of distinctive, tailor-made carpeting for the Star- a patchwork of beautiful second-hand rugs stitched together to create a unique floors you won’t find anyplace else. As can be found below, although others have a paper A few of the rooms bear the identical reddish paper.
Room number seven is very likely to cause a bit of a stir with their distinctive bed-stead. Working stocks compose the foot of the mattress, with wrought iron rings are connected to their bed’s head. An eclectically unique spin on the old fashoned stocks, we’d rather not think in too much detail the phenomena that are very likely to occur within this room…!

The downstairs is divided into several rooms- the purpose region, a large and inviting space perfect for weddings or other occasions, to amuse guests and sit together to enjoy your meal. There’s also ‘the library’ a relaxing area with a range of armchairs and a fireplace, the primary area with an array of tables made to seat amounts, adapting any party size. Whilst feeling homey and inviting, it is not staying a family bar in the core of a loved village. There’s a variety of dishes on offer, created by enthusiastic and gifted chefs. They utilize locally sourced and innovative components, encapsulating contemporary cuisine at its best. Meat is derived from Sussex farms along with the fish provides have been obtained at newhaven.

From to thick sandwiches decadent cream teas, or a evening meal there’s something for all. It keeps the basis of a perfect place for a romantic evening meal a family lunch, or an area of respite to rest up using a beverage before returning to the areas and rivers which lay beyond.

The Star is one of the oldest Inns of the UK. Its 700 year life span has greeted smuggles, pilgrims and royalty . From being run by monks to being considered a ‘Holy House’ hosting a ‘refuge article’ for church security that is instant to fugitives and smugglers, the Inn is steeped is history.
